Czech Textbooks Published Between 1918-1938 and Their Impact on Contemporary Czech Language Teaching

The presented theses analyse four textbook series of Czech for second grade of the elementary school published up to 1938. The theses the overall structure, layout, parts of the textbooks and describes contents of the curriculum. Didactical analysis of the curriculum follows together with analysis of processes and methods then used. Using the teacher's books the didactical approach, on which the methods were built, is examined. The scope of this work is to find didactical methods, that are not used in contemporary textbooks, and which are worth to be used in present day Czech language teaching. The analysis starts with mutual comparison of the First republic textbooks, that is followed by comparison of those textbooks with contemporary Czech language textbook representing output of present-day publishing houses. The theses sum up, that the approaches used in historical textbooks are much more diverse, compared to present-day textbooks unified conception. Contemporary textbooks are more deliberately treated from visual point of view, there are differences in the scope of grammar tuition. Supporting speaking competence of children in primary school

This diploma thesis deals with support of speaking competence of children in primary school. It focuses especially on the 5th and 6th grade students and on an expository writing whereas it explicates the basic developmental characteristics of this age group. In its crucial part, diploma comes with a unique set of activities, which could accompany the exercises in the Czech language textbooks used nowadays. Finally, in the closing chapter, the testing of selected activities with a group of 5th grade students is described including an evaluation and a feedback of students. Evolution of Communnication Acitivities for Pupils in Grades 1-3 at Primary School

The thesis titled "The Evolution of communication activities for pupils in grades 1-3 at primary school" based on the existing knowledge on the topic present their own knowledge through research, which focuses on the area of communication education, the development of communication activities in the educational process, and the education of Czech and Vietnamese pupils in the educational area of the language and the language of communication. In the theoretical part rigorous of the thesis systematize the existing knowledge relating to the topic and consider them starting points for the development. The main objective of the work, based on the empirical investigation, is to create and present an evolution of communication activities for pupils of younger school age during their first training period with regard to the education of pupils from the Vietnamese ethnicity. The research topic is further divided into intermediate objectives, to whose fulfillment the work is going. The practical part is focused on the description of the project research, research investigations, evaluation of the data and knowledge gained from our own pedagogical practice. Comparative analysis of language and communication skills in written communiqué by students from the 4th year of high school. Language level based assessment of stylistic writings

This rigorous paper deals with analysis of language and communication competence in written messages created in 2014. The analyzed sample comes from students attending grammar school, grammar school for 11-19 year old students, secondary technical school and secondary vocational school extension study. The theoretical part defines the communication and language competences, as well as the principles of their acquiring in the structure of communicative strategies during secondary education. This paper's further aim is to deal with the writing part of the leaving examination criteria and assessment. The second part introduces comparative analysis of authentic texts aimed at the level of those two competences mentioned above and at objectivity of the writing assessments made by teachers at particular schools. Samples of analysed texts, specialized literature quotations, diagrams, charts and an appendix are part of this work. The certificate from the Czech language writing evaluator and a point scale for writing assessments are enclosed, too. Pragmatic aspects of speech communication at the elementary school

Communication skill is one of the key competencies that pupils should achieve during the compulsory education. The subject of this work - teaching pragmatic aspects is closely related to communication competence. The thesis focuses on teaching of pragmatic aspects in primary schools. Based on the theoretical literature there are defined basic terms such as cooperative communication, politeness principle, manipulation, argumentation, nonverbal communication and assertiveness. In the practical part the thesis focuses on the analysis of textbooks - how are the pragmatic aspects included in the textbooks. Other part is concerned with the analysis of the survey in which several teachers were asked about how the pragmatic aspects of speech communication are taught and how well is this subject matter mastered by their pupils. The last section includes worksheets, in which the activities are designed to practice examined pragmatic aspects.

Possibilities of Connection between Syntactic and Communication Themes

The purpose of this thesis is a description of communication and its connection in the syntactical area, analysis and subsequent comparison of approach of particular didaktics, grammarbooks and schoolbooks to the connection. The work is conceived as two parts, this is a teoretical part with definition of communication and ist represatation in didaktics and the practical part with the analysis of selected schoolbooks.
